There are predicted train delays between the 7th -12th August that will affect routes travelling from London to Winchester. This may have an impact on your journey time when heading to Boomtown this year. 

There will be a reduced service from London between the 7th-12th August 2023. Please take a look at our FAQs for some advice and double check your journey before making your travels to ensure you arrive in time.

What time are Shuttle Buses running until?

20:30 on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday

19:00 on Friday & Saturday

16:00 on Monday

What's the latest I can get into the festival?

Last entry to all gates is 21:30, car parks and the public drop off points close at 21:00

Can I change my shuttle ticket to a coach ticket? 

No

Will my Green Transport Citizen Entry Ticket be valid if I book onto a new coach?

If you continue to use public transport to arrive at the festival your Green Transport Citizen Entry Ticket will still be validated. 

Where can I purchase coach tickets?

Some National Express coach services direct to Boomtown from over 60 destinations can be booked directly on their website here: https://www.nationalexpress.com/en/events/boomtown-fair

What happens if my train is delayed so much that I miss the gate times?

South Western Railway have adjusted their timetable to ensure they can provide a reliable service, trains should not experience undue delay, however the number of services an hour has decreased. Check the timetable on the day and leave early enough to arrive in Winchester by 20:00

I’ve already bought a shuttle bus ticket but need to change to a coach, what can I do?

What lines/routes are affected?

The following train operating companies are affected by the ASLEF action short of a strike and have indicated that they do not expect to be able to run their full timetable. Please check before you travel:

In practical terms, this will affect trains from Waterloo to Winchester.

If I arrive via a different form of public transportation do I need to contact Boomtown/Kaboodle?

As long as you arrive by public transport (e.g. National Express coach) there is no need to contact Boomtown and Kaboodle.

I’ve already purchased my train ticket, will I get a refund?

If you speak to your ticket provider you may be able to seek a refund or change the departure time of your ticket, as less frequent services are still available.

Can I pay extra to arrive by car?

Car Park Passes are no longer available online, however can be purchased on arrival if you chose to arrive by car. Parking is £60, so travel with friends and share the cost. Please remember this is only for those customer who have not purchased a Green Transport Citizen Ticket.

I have a Green Transport Citizen Entry Ticket. Can I decide to drive instead? 

No these tickets will still only be valid for those travelling to the festival by public transport.

What can I do if my train is cancelled and I have a green citizenship ticket?

Are the shuttle buses still running from the train station?

Can I get a refund on my green citizenship ticket?

No

Crew FAQs

My train has been delayed and I am now due to get to site after my first shift?

There is a reduced service on the railways, please leave enough time to travel to site in time for work. If you are going to be late please contact your employer.

Will the crew shuttle buses still be available?

Yes
