Arrival & Departure

What time do gates open?

Gate opening times: 

Wednesday 9th August: 14:00- 21:30

Thursday 10th August: 12:00 - 21:30 

Friday/Saturday/Sunday: 10:00 - 21:30

NO RE-ENTRY AFTER: 21:30

How do I know where to park?

Your car parking pass is an eTicket this year or you can purchase one at the gate for £60 card payment. If you haven't registered you number plate follow direction from the stewards. Upon arrival you will be routed to your designated car park. Look out for our crew and signage.

Do we have to arrive in a car share?

There are no limits enforced on car sharing. We simply encourage you to car share where possible.

What time can I stay on site until?

The site needs to be vacated by midday on Monday 14th August. Please make sure you are all packed up and on your merry way home by then.

I’m getting the shuttle bus, where can I find the times?

We’ve put together a list of Shuttle Bus times here.

I have a Green Citizenship Ticket, can I arrive by car?

No, these tickets were reduced to encourage people to use greener methods of transport as part of our Green Mission. You must arrive via coach or travel by train and use our Shuttle Bus.

Tickets and Entry

Can I download my tickets and show them on my phone at the gate?

We would recommend printing your tickets out or saving them to your phone as signals at the festival can be unreliable and we want to ensure you enter the gate smoothly.

What ID can I bring with me?

Acceptable forms of ID include; photographic driving licence, proof of age card with PASS hologram or a passport. Photocopies will not be accepted. 

I have a Wednesday ticket, can I arrive on a different day?

All tickets are valid onwards from the day listed on the ticket at purchase.

Cash Free

How can I top up my wristband?

If you want to top up on site. Just log in to your account on your smartphone and press the top-up button. You can either choose one of the preset amounts or you can enter a top-up amount of your choice. Then enter your bank card details to complete the transaction. You can choose to save the payment method if you wish. 

You can also top up on site at the top up banks with either cash or card

Drug Safety

What's Boomtown's policy on drugs?

As with all festivals, towns and cities across the country, UK law applies. Do not bring drugs into the city, they will be confiscated and you run the risk of being prosecuted.

Prohibited Items

What should I NOT bring with me?

Take a look at our prohibited items list and ensure you do not bring anything along with you that could be confiscated. Don't bring anything you're not willing to take home with you.

How much alcohol can I bring with me?

There is a limit to the amount of alcohol you can bring on site. You may bring up to:

  1. A) 16 x 440ml cans of lager/cider/beer OR
  2. B) 18 x 250ml cans of premixed spirit drinks OR
  3. C) 3-litre box of wine OR 
  4. D) 7 litres of cider/lager/beer in plastic bottles or cans

Plastic or glass bottles of spirits are not allowed.

Facilities

Are there showers in general camping?

This year showers are located in Camp Orchid and Camp Skylark. 

When does the entertainment start?

There is some entertainment from Wednesday evening, although the main city opens Thursday afternoon.

I have dietary requirements, how do I find out what traders I can eat from?

Please communicate your requirements with our traders on-site to find out more.

Will there be medical care available?

The Medical and Welfare tents provide experienced, caring and confidential help for all kinds of medical, practical and personal problems.

I've lost something at the festival what do I do now? 

Be sure to head to our Info point for any lost and found items.
